Lose Abdominal Fat

by Ray Lam

Abdominal fat is equally risky for both women and men. Women who have higher proportions of abdominal fat in their bodies are at a higher risk of cancer, diabetes, and heart disease. In case of men, researchers have observed that, the amount of abdominal fat in their bodies is directly proportional to their risk of a heart failure. For many years, doctors know that apple shaped people who store fat around their stomach have a higher risk of chronic conditions compared to pear shaped people, those who store fat in their thighs and buttocks.

A healthy diet is also a very important change to make if your goal is to shed abdominal fat. The key to a healthy diet is watching your daily calorie intake and doing activities to keep your heart rate up to burn these unwanted calories. Try to eliminate some of the unnecessary junk foods you eat and replace it with a healthy snack. In addition, instead of eating three big meals daily, try five to six meals smaller meals per day. By doing this you will increase your metabolism, consequently, making it easier to burn abdominal fat.

Another great way to lose abdominal fat is doing regular cardio exercises. You must do exercises such as stair climbing, jogging or brisk walking on a daily basis. To get an effect you should do the cardio exercise for at least thirty minutes.

By lowering the calories you take in throughout the day you can begin to focus your attention on toning and defining your abdominal area. Belly fat can be the most stubborn area of the body so it really does include many different factors in order to make this happen. It is important to remember that men and women lose abdominal fat differently and for males, it is generally the very last area of the body you will lose fat.

If you already have a fat abdomen and you are asking for the best way to lose abdominal weight and how to reduce a fat stomach, the best option is to follow a healthy weight loss diet, combined with fitness exercises such as aerobics (to burn extra calories) and an abdominal-toning workout to help tighten and strengthen abdominal muscles.
