Take Care Of Your Eye Health

In the last twenty years, our society became every day more and more aware of our need to keep a healthy life. Many people are now seriously engaged on physical care and appropriate nourishment. However, we often neglect our eyes health. Our eyes deserve protection as much as our skin does and some simple regular exams can prevent against illnesses which might also affect our general health. Let me show some tips on how to keep your eyes bright and sane:

Prevention:

In the modern times is hard to conceive life without spending some good hours of a day in front of a computer. We use them at work, we use them at home. Moreover, we are always very concerned about our data safety running plenty of software to conserve its integrity. My question is: what do we do to protect our eyes integrity? Those long hours in front of the computer can cause injuries to eyes and without regular check ups soon we will find ourselves struggling to read small prints. Regular eye exams are the key for keeping the eyes away from the blurred images visions.

UV Protection:

When the summer comes, starts the rush for sunny places and people spend much more time on outdoor activities. Sun is healthy and good, but can really harm if not enjoyed carefully. Cataract and Macular Degeneration are consequences of sun’s UV rays to ours eyes when we don’t protect them with a good 100 UV protection sunglasses.

Vitamin A:

This is the vitamin for the eyes! You can take vitamin supplements or, even better; include fruits and vegetables which are sources of it on your diet in order to avoid eye illnesses. Yellow and orange vegetables are rich on Vitamin A. How’s about and orange and carrots juice?

* Smoking.

Smoking cause eye diseases like Cataracts and Macular degeneration. Any smoker who wants to keep the eyes good must quit this harmful habit.

* Exercise and good nutrition.

Good nutrition is vital to avoid eye’s illnesses. A balanced diet rich on vegetables, fruits and fish will positively lessen the possibilities of developing serious eye problems. Exercises also help to keep good eye health since it prevents diabetes that can develop to an eye condition further on.

We all want to increase our overall health and that’s why we can’t neglect our eyes. Simple measures can be taken in order to help on it. If you work long hours in front of a computer monitor, take regular breaks to rest your eyes. If you notice any change on the clearness of the images you see, get an appointment with an ophthalmologist. Prevention and right diagnosis are best ways to keep your eyes healthy for a long time.
