Hopefully you are at least aware of the dangers of smoking and you know that the only real reason you need to stop is because it could kill you. For most smokers though, and I was one of them, this is not reason enough and nor is the daily damage you are doing to your health.
It’s not easy, in fact for some the prospect of quitting smoking is reason enough to light one up. But quitting should be your only consideration at this point. You know how bad it is for you, every smoker does.
Smokers risk their health every time they light up. They are more prone to diseases associated particularly with smoking which include various types of cancers. They are also more prone to heart attacks. These should be reasons enough to quit smoking.
As you get older the body takes more strain and takes longer to heal. Smokers damage their bodies from the inside out and so they are more susceptible to injury and ill-health later in their life.
One thing smokers definitely know how to do is to find money for cigarettes. I have been privy to many discussions with smokers in the past who complain about never having money but fail to realise how much they spend on their addiction.
Walking up a hill or a flight of stairs may be nearly impossible for you without being out of breath if you are a smoker. Once you stop this is one of the things you will almost immediately feel improving in your physical health. Another reason to stop is because you will start to generally feel and look better and people will notice.
There are really so many reasons to stop smoking and you should be in no doubt about choosing this course of action. Feeling healthy, having peace of mind as well as feeling more self-confident will be some of the other good reasons to stop smoking.
You know you have to stop smoking. The people who care about you most want you to stop. You no doubt constantly battle with stopping; imagine freeing yourself from the clutches of this addiction and living a better, healthier life.
