Diabetic Diet: Get Your Blood Sugar Level Lower Rapidly

All diabetics need to start on a special diabetic diet that is geared toward consuming less sugar and carbohydrates. They must stay on this diet because if they get too much sugar in their body, it will cause the pancreas to start working harder to process the sugar into energy. The more sugar they consume, the harder their pancreas will work. The sugar will soon build up in their system because the pancreas will not be able to handle it all, which can lead to serious health problems.

Major health problems can occur if you keep consuming too much sugar for a prolonged period of time. This extra sugar that is slowly built up in your blood starts damaging your body by attacking your blood vessels. It will then move on to do some greater harm by causing you to acquire nerve damage, kidney disease, eye problems, and kidney problems. So, how does one go about getting and keeping their blood sugar at a normal level?

Cinnamon is one way to successfully lower your blood sugar level. Doctors have proven that if you eat this spice daily, it can lower your blood sugar level by slowing down the rate at which your stomach processes the food. One excellent way to eat this would be sprinkling some onto oatmeal each morning for breakfast. A bad way to eat this would be a Cinnabon cinnamon roll.

Apple cider vinegar is additional way to lower the amount of sugar in your system. All it takes is to consume 2 tablespoons before each meal and before you go to sleep at night. Doctors suggest the vinegar lowers your sugar level by digesting the starch that is in your foods very slowly.

One more way to lower the blood sugar is to drink lots of water. The water basically thins down the sugar in your system. Once enough water is in your system, your body will simply flush the extra sugar out of your system along with the extra water. The more water your drink, the lower your sugar level will be, and the healthier you will become.

Ginseng also helps lower your blood sugar level by increasing your insulin production, increasing how much insulin and sugar your cells absorb and by decreasing how fast your body processes the food you eat in your diabetic diet. The best way to take this would be to drink it as tea right before you eat. Do make sure you eat, because this tea has a tendency to drop your blood sugar level too low without eating food.

Regular exercise is another way to combat high sugar levels. Exercise helps lower your blood sugar levels and it can do this quickly. It does this because when you exercise, your body will first look to the extra sugar in your system to burn off first before it looks for other sources like body fat.

Keeping a blood sugar level at a normal rate is the goal of every diabetic. Our blood sugar level should be between 90 to 130 mg before we eat anything and below 180 after we eat. This can be accomplished by sticking to a diabetic diet, but can get too high if we stray and cheat by eating a sugar item. When this happens, just use the 5 methods mentioned to help lower your blood sugar level back down to a healthier rate.
