In today’s world, it is not feasible to stay out of touch. There are appointments to keep and calls to make. There are emails that cannot go unanswered. You have to be able to edit and send documents while being on the go. Try a handheld computer as a way to help you stay in touch with the world. It has all of the properties of a computer, but is compact so you can carry it with you at all times.

You need something that is portable, but allows you to keep track of your schedule and important events. New phones have many of these capabilities, but you may need something more for your particular lifestyle. You need to check out a handheld computer. It’s sleek, has handy gadgets and software programs.

The pocket PC has come a long way since its humble beginnings. This device started out as a calculator sized computer that had very limited and basic functions. Later models added the ability to see one line of text, this is old stuff today of course.

There is not a simple answer to the question: What is the Best Handheld Computer? This is of course dependant on a person needs, but there are a few more successful than others in the market, Palm, IPAQ, HP and Dell are some brands worth looking at.

Some of the abilities of handheld computers are Personal Information Management (PIM), Word processing, GPS navigation, multimedia presentation and many more. Pretty impressive for a little gadget like the PDA.

The Windows mobile Smartphone is a combination of the cell phone and the personal digital assistant. The PC software is there in the cell phone so it can be used as a personal computer when on the go. It was this evolution of the cell phone that had many companies altering their selling tactics. Most companies elected not to pursue the pocket PC, since Smartphones were becoming more of a mainstream choice.

The pocket PC is a great tool to have if you find yourself away from your home computer or office. It is an excellent way to stay in touch. There are some great models on the market today, such as the PalmOs, iPhone, Blackberry and many of the Hewlett Packard brands of smart phones. Even if you already have a cell phone, the PDA can still be used for its scheduling capabilities; however, once you have fully mastered the PDA, you’ll never want to go back to a paper planner again.
