Conducting A Windows Registry Scan

by Julian Bates

Sometimes it is necessary to conduct a scan on your PC’s registry when you start to see symptoms of registry problems occuring.

These symptoms of problems with your PC’s registry range from error messages to something called blue screen, commonly called the “Blue Screen of Death”, and a complete system failure so you won’t be able to restart your computer.

It’s very important that you keep your registry clean and error free so that it can work properly. Neglecting your registry in your computer is like neglecting the engine in your car, it’s only a matter of time before it develops problems.

There is a fast and simple way to conduct a comprehensive scan on your computer using software called a registry cleaner.

Registry cleaners were designed to make it easy for computer owners to maintain their computer’s registry.

If you don’t possess registry cleaning software then your registry must be edited manually which can take a long time and is not a good idea. Having a registry cleaner makes life much easier and enables you to clean your registry in just a few minutes.

Once you have bought a registry cleaner the first thing you will need to do is install it and then conduct a registry scan. Files, keys and entries which are obsolete, redundant, outdated or orphaned can be removed and the resulting holes filled in stopping your PC’s registry from becoming fragmented.

Doing this will vastly increase the data access time for your computer’s registry, enabling all of your programs and applications to start and respond much faster.

Always remember to make sure that you back up your registry files before you make any changes. Your registry cleaner program should have this backup option. Backing up is done just incase something goes wrong during the cleaning process so the registry can be restored.
