Look for those they can build with or easily get the hang of. You want to make sure you don’t have very small pieces that a child can choke on and that everything can easily be washed.
You can also offer coloring sheets with crayons. These are really fun for children and they often look forward to getting them. There are many that are part of the place mat. Some have games on them too such as matching and simple mazes to get to the end of. Parents can help their children to complete them if they aren’t able to do it on their own.
Be supportive when parents come in with their own agenda for keeping their kids happy. It can be a game or a few toys that they allow their child to enjoy before the meal. Should some be left behind you can keep them in a safe location until someone calls or comes in to pick them up.
If you do your part to keep children happy at your restaurant it will pay off. You will have happy families that choose to come in and eat. They are going to feel very comfortable in your business.
