Money From Your Vending Machine Business

by Robert Farnham

When it comes to the vending machine business, making profits is the name of the game. There are many ways in which you can increase how much is going into your own pocket. Implementing a few of these strategies can certainly help you to be successful. First, you need to make sure all of your vending machines work properly. That way customers can buy from then when they want to.

They also can’t make a purchase from you if the products are selling out days before you show up to stock the machines. Keep in mind that empty slots mean people have been walking up to the vending machine and not finding what they want. Some will settle for something else but not everyone will.

You need to make sure you are getting to your vending machines before they run out of items as well. You should never get there to stock it to find it is empty completely or at least in many categories. This is an indicator that you could be making much more money from your vending machine business.

Try to find a lower price on the products you offer in your vending machines. Buying them in large quantities is a great way to do this. Just make sure you will be able to sell all of it before it goes bad. Otherwise this will cause you to lose money instead of making more. When you buy in large quantities you are able to get a lower price per item. That means the difference between what you paid and what the consumer pays you for it is bigger.

Have a regular routine when it comes to checking your vending machines. You want to schedule this during slow time so that people won’t be missing the chance to use your vending machine while you stock it. Early mornings and late evenings seem to work best. Carry everything you need with you so that you are ready for anything.

When was the last time you really evaluated the quality of the locations where you have those vending machines? If it has been a while then stake out the location and evaluate the level of traffic. If it isn’t what it used to be then you may need to search for a better location that you can move to. Never assume that what was once a good location always will be.

The amount of money you are paying for the location should be considered as it may be too much. If you have a contract in place you are still bound to it. Yet that doesn’t mean you can’t talk it over and see if a compromise can be reached. The worse that can happen is that the owner of the location says no.

If you want to keep more of the money from your vending machine business in your pocket, then you need to work smarter. Don’t just strive to get more vending machines as that may not be the right answer. Find ways to tweak the routine and set up you have right now. There is always room for change and improvement in any type of business. Paying attention to such opportunities can make your vending machine business more profitable than ever before.
