Can a Business Coach Really Make My Company Grow?

by Theo McLanahan

“Business coach”" may not be a familiar term to you but you’ll find by doing a Google search that it’s getting more and more popular all the time. You may not actually understand what the term means and how a business coach can help you so we’ll answer those questions and more in this feature.

A business coach is like a sports coach. He is an outside party who can give you advice on your strong and weak points. Some may be certified but may not necessarily have a degree. To help you the most, it would be advantageous for the coach to have a background in what you need the help in.

Someone who is already successful in internet marketing would be a great coach if you are looking for someone to help with your website. If you are in direct sales and want to make more money, you would need to find someone with a direct sales background.

A business coach will help you with plans to help you reach your business goals. Because they don’t really know you, they are open with you and tell you if your ideas are good or bad. They can help you pinpoint the important parts of your business that you will need to work on and recommend which to let go of.

If you have trouble with accountability, a business coach will hold you accountable to your goals. If you say that you are going to do something, at your next meeting, your business coach will want to discuss your results. If you tell them you did not do your work, they are going to want to know why.

Simply knowing that you are going to have to report back may be enough incentive to complete your work and stay on top of your goals. They can also help you create a work schedule and deal with any time management or organization problems you may have.

Sometimes when you work from home, you may feel a little closed off. A business coach can help replace those co-workers that you might normally have a brainstorming session with. The coach you choose may have already been where you are and be able to instruct you on how to handle the lull in your business as well as how to make your business flourish.

By choosing a good coach and listening to them and carrying out any suggestions that they might have, you should be able to see a change in your business in a relatively brief period of time.
