They are generally required to close a deal, which simply means to generate sales or income for the company. These individuals are sometimes called sales agents, sales associates, business managers, brokers, sales manager, or sales person.
Being a sales agent is tough because you have to find your own client. You can do this by doing cold calls, or randomly selecting people off a phone book. You are in charge of scheduling an appointment with a potential client and present the products or services offered by the company. Sales agents are often not required to comply with typical office hours. Instead, being a sales agent means being on the field and selling your products from one prospective customer to the other.
Despite its rough exterior, being a sales agent has its rewards. As long as you are a hard worker, a career in sales can be very financially rewarding. Many companies give their agents a fat commission or incentive. Companies give commissions either as a reward or a motivational tool, to bring the best out of you.
